Host: Dr. Stephen Poon
In celebration of Zero Emissions Day, this dialogue draws on pattern recognition and cross-cutting analysis to identify three governing components of sustainable economies: diversity, energy, and trade.
Managing these components at regional and national levels carries profound implications for green building, energy security, industrial and mixed industrial-urban systems, net zero goals, circularity, and other urgent needs in a turbulent 21st century.
Other concepts explored include the forms of diversity that confer resilience and productivity to an economy, the challenges and opportunities of an energy neutral economy, a balanced trade triangle, and an ecological explanation of the wealth gap and how it can be narrowed.
The session concludes with case studies from the United States, Ecuador, Sri Lanka, and Italy, offering a path toward economic restoration.
